Suspension of potential strike action at HMRC on 31 January 2008

We alerted you last week to the possibility of Industrial Action at HMRC on 31 January 2008.

The Public and Commercial Services Union has decided to suspend its ballot for strike action on 31 January and called off the planned action.

All HMRC Enquiry Centres will be open as normal on 31 January 2008 to provide services to customers and receive Self Assessment tax returns. We will keep the busiest Enquiry Centres open for an extra hour to 6pm, the normal hours of business being 8.30am to 5pm, to receive SA tax returns.
