Further to the What's New entry for 18 August showing three new speed dialling
numbers for agents, some more offices (in Cambridgeshire Area and Lincolnshire
Area) are now connected to the Leicester Contact Centre.

our Taxes Contact Centres (see Working

the Internet
In Working Together issue 13 we published
an article on viewing clients' Statements of Account over the Internet. Many
agents have contacted us to ask how they can access the Agent Internet Service
for Self Assessment.

Register of Issues
We have substantially updated the Register of Issues. For ease of reference,
we have shown 'amended' against those issues updated. We have archived the
cleared issues, giving you the facility to view either live or archived items
within each of the 14 subject categories.
Although the existing Register will still be available, we intend to launch
a new look Register soon. We will tell you when this has been launched on
our What's New and the Revenue What's new page.

New Tax Credits - Here is the first edition
of Questions and Answers document for agents
This covers some of the more basic questions that you have raised. Further
editions will be published over the coming weeks and months to cover more
complex questions (e.g. treatment of losses, farmers' averaging adjustments
and other definition of income issues, interaction with tax enquiries and
more on appeals, etc) and we will feature more on new tax credits in the quarterly
Working Together publication.

SA Tax Return Guides - Feedback Please
We told you in issue 12 of Working Together that the SA Tax Return Guide for
individuals, SA Partnership Tax Return Guide and SA Trust and Estate Tax Return
Guides for 2002/03 were being issued to agents with more than 5 clients on
the SA database. We began issuing these guides on 17 March.

First Fixed Late-Filing Penalty
First Fixed Late-Filing penalty notices are currently being issued for 2001/2002
where our records show that completed Self Assessment Tax Returns were not
received on time.

This is an update of the article on New Tax Credits which appeared in Working
Together, issue 12. Regulations are changing from April which affect the type
of changes to personal circumstances which need to be reported to the Revenue.

Small Earnings Exception - Certificate Renewal Exercise.
You may have a number of clients whose earnings have been below the Small
Earnings Exception Limit for some time. Their small earnings certificates
may be due to expire this year. The National Insurance Contributions Office
(NICO) has begun the automatic exercise to renew these certificates. Click
