Helpline closures

Following the introduction of the Construction Industry Scheme reform measures in April 2007 we have reviewed the helplines which supported the old construction Industry scheme.

As a result we have decided to close the:

• CIS Orderline
• Subcontractors Helpline
• Contractors Helpline.

These three lines will be closed in a staged process with suitable messages left on the old numbers directing callers to an appropriate service.

The first of these to close was the Subcontractors helpline (0845 300 0581) on Tuesday 21 August 2007.

Callers ringing this number after that date hear a message advising them to call:

• the new CIS helpline (0845 366 7899) for enquiries about construction industry work undertaken since 6 April 2007

or:

• the Self-Assessment helpline (0845 900 0444) for enquiries about construction industry work done before 6 April 2007 or regarding the completion of their tax return.

Please note these numbers and help us by using the appropriate number for work carried out either before or after 6 April 2007.

Closure of the CIS Orderline and Contractors helpline will be announced once we are able to provide dates for these.
