Working Together (WT) is a partnership between the main professional bodies representing tax advisers and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). We have local WT groups holding meetings two-three times a year in many locations across the UK. These groups provide an opportunity for tax advisers and VAT practitioners to engage with HMRC on operational matters and raise issues at any time, not only in a structured and productive way, but also in an open and safe environment.
The meetings help to strengthen local liaison between tax practitioners and HMRC, aiming to improve the operation of the tax system.
The majority of local WT groups are formed with a maximum of two agents from each of the main professional bodies. These representatives will canvas local members from their respective organisations for issues and agenda items and feedback outcomes from the meetings and on the issues raised.
If you would like to get involved - use the directory to see if there is a WT group that meets near you. For ease of reference, the UK has been split into five geographical areas. Once you have found a group you are interested in joining, select the email contact link for the professional body you are affiliated to and let them know that you're interested in representing your organisation at that group. Your organisation will confirm if there are vacancies available in your chosen group.
If you're not affiliated to any of the six professional bodies, or are affiliated to another organisation then please use the unaffiliated link to contact HMRC and register your interest.
