Voluntary and Community Sector Advisory Group (VCSAG) Terms of Reference

Its primary role is to build strategic partnerships with the VCS across the Department and to offer our Key Strategic Partners input into high-level policy and strategy for the delivery of Departmental business.

In carrying out its primary role, VCSAG will:

  • Provide a strategic steer to the VCS Team
  • Set priorities for the team
  • Ensure that communications are effective for the wider VCS
  • Take into account the purpose and priorities of the sector
  • Monitor performance in implementing the Compact and progress against work plans
  • Escalate issues to the Departmental Operations Committee where appropriate.

Meetings

VCSAG meetings will take place every 4 months and will last no longer than 2 hours. The agenda will be circulated 2 weeks before the meeting. The meeting will be held in the Department’s offices in central London.
