Q. I have just discovered that a trust has been in existence for a number of years. What should I do?

A. If there has been a liability to tax you must register the trust as soon as possible. You can do this by completing form 41G(Trust). It is available from any HM Revenue & Customs Enquiry Centre or Tax Office. Or you can get a copy online.

When returning the completed form, include a brief history of the trust. Also explain why you did not let us have details of the trust earlier.
