Q. Should I contact the tax office or will they contact me?
A. You should contact the tax office as soon as possible advising them of
- the deceased’s national insurance number or UTR (Unique tax reference)
or
- the name and address of the deceased’s last employer / pension provider
or
- their full address
and
- the date of death
- the name and address of the person to contact in connection with the deceased.
