Q. What is the administration period and when does it end?
A. It’s the period that runs from the day after the date of death to the date you finalise the estate’s affairs. Generally it won't end until you are able to transfer the assets in the estate to the beneficiaries of the will or under the intestacy provisions once you've paid or made provision for payment of the debts of the estate, including Inheritance Tax and any legacies.
