What happens when I wind up the estate?

Frequently Asked Questions

When you want to wind up the estate you can ask us to agree the liability for the final period and pay the tax due early. The estate will then be wound up without having to wait until the normal payment dates.

Please contact us if you need further information about tax returns, assessments and payments, we will be glad to help.

We may also ask you to supply information about the people who will benefit from the estate (the beneficiaries), and whether a trust has been set up under the deceased's Will or under the 'rules of intestacy', that is, the rules of inheritance that apply where there is no Will.
