Q. What is the administration period and when does it end?

A. It is the period from the date of death to the date you finalise the estate's affairs. Generally it will not end until you are able to transfer the assets in the estate to the beneficiaries of the will or under the intestacy provisions. It will certainly not end before you have paid all of the debts of the estate, including inheritance tax and any legacies.
