HMRC’s online tax credits service is closed until further notice. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Claiming tax credits or reporting a change
If you want to claim tax credits, or report a change in your circumstances, please call the Tax Credit Helpline. The numbers you can ring are:
- Tel 0845 300 3900
- Textphone 0845 300 3909 - if you are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment
If you’re calling from overseas you can also call Tel + 44 289 053 8192.
Lines are open from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Renewing your tax credits
Once you receive your renewal pack, you can renew your tax credits claim by either:
- completing your renewal form and return it using the envelope provided
- calling the Tax Credit Helpline on Tel 0845 300 3900 or Textphone 0845 300 3909
