What if you’ve two jobs – one employed and one self-employed?

If you’re earning less than your Personal Allowance of £5,035 a year, it doesn’t matter how many different jobs you have with the same or different employers. You still won’t have to pay any tax, although you might have to pay some National Insurance contributions from being in self-employment.

If you’re earning more than £5,035 a year, it can get a bit complicated when you’re working for yourself as well. You’ll need to register as self-employed and pay tax and National Insurance contributions on your self-employed earnings.
