Delay to Tax Credits 2007-08 geographical finalised annual awards publications

The decision has been made to delay the following two publications which were due for release on Tuesday 19 May:

• Child and Working Tax Credits Statistics 2007-08 Finalised annual awards: Geographical analyses
• Child and Working Tax Credits Statistics 2007-08 Finalised annual awards: Supplement on payments geographical analyses

The non-geographical tables are not affected and will be published as planned at 9.30am on Tuesday 19 May.

During the production of the geographical publication it became evident that there were some underlying problems with the data required to allocate the cases to geographical areas. Whilst the rest of the data was unaffected, which has enabled us to produce the main non-geographical publications, we are unable at present to break down the totals regionally. We are currently investigating the issues and hope to have them resolved shortly, with a view to publishing within two months.
