Change to Personal Pension and Stakeholder Pension Contribution tables 7.4 to 7.5

Table 7.4 and Table 7.5 will not be updated quarterly with immediate effect. We will not publish the cumulative figure for contributions during the first two quarters of 2007-08 to Personal Pensions and Stakeholder Pensions at the end of January 2008.

We will publish Table 7.4 and Table 7.5 showing the contributions to Personal Pensions and to Stakeholder Pensions for the full financial year in July following the end of the financial year. We will publish contributions for financial year 2007-08 at end of July 2008.

The format of Table 7.4 and Table 7.5 will otherwise remain unchanged.
Until now these tables have show quarterly contributions to date as reported to us by pension scheme administrators during the financial year. Scheme administrators can choose when during the year to report contributions to us. The predictive power of these in-year cumulative contributions for a full year figure is not strong. We have decided the quality of the underlying data does not warrant their collation and publication as National Statistics on a quarterly basis.
