The publication of National Statistics based on the 2008-09 Survey of Personal Income (SPI) is delayed and now expected to be published in August 2011 for tables 3.1 to 3.10 and September 2011 for tables 3.11 to 3.15.
The SPI 2009 bulletin forewarned that there would be a delay in the publication of National Statistics for the 2008-09 tax year because the PAYE data was being migrated to the National Insurance and PAYE system (NPS) and this changed both the range of data and format of delivery to SPI.
The new system to receive the data and transform into the form required for SPI is being built. The outputs require extensive quality assurance to ensure they are fit for purpose in compiling National Statistics and the anticipated scale of work now points to the revised publication date above.
