Details

This series contains information on tax reliefs for charities and charitable giving, covering a range of taxes. Data is derived from HM Revenue and Customs’ administrative records, together with a statutory collection for Payroll Giving. More information is given in the statistical release.

Table 1 is a summary of tax reliefs for charity by tax year. Before 2023, the information in this table was in Tables 1, 2 and 3.

Table 2 is a summary of Gift Aid, with the number of organisations receiving different amounts of Gift Aid, by tax year. Before 2023, this table was called “Table 4”.

Table 3 is a summary of donations declared by individuals who completed a Self Assessment tax return, by tax year. Before 2023, this table was called “Table 5”.

Table 4 is a summary of donations declared by individuals completing UK Self Assessment by donation amount, taxpayer income, taxpayer age, and gender. Before 2023, this table was called “Table 6”.

Table 5 is a summary of donations declared by individuals completing Self Assessment by English region, by UK nation and by UK parliamentary constituency. Before 2023, this table was called “Table 7”.

Table 6 is a summary of Payroll Giving: the number of donors, amounts donated and cost of the relief, by tax year.
