SDLT: CD Rom and Bar-coded returns

On 7th August 2007 we explained that we are no longer issuing copies the HMRC CD Rom and that returns submitted by this method would be returned to customers if they fail to scan.

From 1 December 2007 we will extend this approach to all bar-coded returns that fail scanning - and customers will need to resubmit on a valid return. Sometime during 2008, we will stop accepting bar-coded forms altogether. We are discussing this with industry representatives and as soon as the date is confirmed, we will let you know.
