Stamp duty land transaction returns – telephone amendments

SDLT 1s can now be amended by Helpline staff – whether or not the SDLT 5 certificate has been issued. This is because calls to the Helpline are recorded, creating an audit trail.

Staff in Stamp Offices can also amend returns over the telephone. If so, they will issue form SDLT 7, clearly showing customers’ amendments.
