Reaching-out to customers through ‘Outreach’
Stamp Taxes’ Outreach team was formed in 2007, following the remarkable success of a series of visits to legal firms and practitioner groups. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience in SDLT and aim to provide practitioners with practical information about how to file returns online. The team will be making presentations for solicitors and conveyancing professionals throughout the year – either in partnership with other organisations (The Law Society, or HM Land Registry, for example) or on request.
Outreach presentations
Each presentation lasts between 45 – 60 minutes and:
- explains the benefits of e filing
- gives an overview of the HMRC system’s main screens, right from registration to delivery of the online SDLT 5 E certificate
- highlights the main features – built in navigation and on-screen help and guidance, for example
- covers registration and enrolment in detail – (if customers have all the details available, a member of the team can sit with them while they register)
- advises on payment options
- provides information about commercial software providers’ products
- gives updates on system enhancements
- allows you to share experiences of online filing and ask questions.
The team can also tailor some events (on request) to include practical advice on other topics, such as:
- SDLT 8 issues
- Supplementary forms
- Notifications
- Penalties
- Interest
- Using Commercial Case Management Software Developer products.
