Maintain agent details

As a result of customer feedback we have enhanced our ‘maintain agent details’ function within our land transaction return software, to allow you to enter multiple agent address details.

To create multiple address details you will need to:

  • Go to the HMRC website homepage.
  • Select ‘Stamp Taxes’ from the ‘do it online’ menu.
  • Enter your User ID and Password.
  • Access the Stamp Taxes Online service.
  • Go to your list of ‘in progress’ returns.
  • From the left hand menu bar under the heading ‘Settings’ select ‘maintain agent details’.
  • Follow the on screen guidance to add up to a maximum of 25 addresses.

For every new return you now have the option to choose the address you want to auto-populate ‘About the agent for the purchaser(s)’ Q’s 1.60, 1.61, 1.62 and 1.64. To do this:

  • Select the required agent’s/branch name from the drop menu next to the question ‘Agent’s branch list’.
  • Select ‘Get details’.
  • Questions 1.60, 1.61, 1.62 and 1.64 will be auto-populated with the correct details.

Please note that you also have the option to edit or delete agent details entered, at any time. The benefit of using this function allows you to choose your particular agent details (name, address, DX number, telephone number and email address) which are then automatically copied into each return when it is created.
