Entry into Force of the UK/Bermuda Tax Information Exchange Agreement
A Tax Information Exchange Agreement between the United Kingdom and the Overseas Territory of Bermuda was signed in London on 4 December 2007 and entered into force on 10 November 2008. The text has been published as the Schedule to the International Tax Enforcement (Bermuda) Order 2008 (PDF 1.03MB) (Statutory Instrument 2008 No1789), copies of which can be obtained from The Stationery Office. The text of the Order can also be accessed on the website of the Office of Public Sector Information.
Details of the debate by the Thirteenth Delegated Legislation committee of the 3 July 2008 can be found in the House of Commons Official Report, following which the draft Order was approved by Parliament on 7 July 2008.
In the United Kingdom and Bermuda the provisions of the Agreement will take effect from 4 December 2008.
