Shared Workspace plug-in
The plug-in is a small program that enables Shared Workspace users to utilise a variety of additional functions.
Features and benefits of the plug-in include:
- Easier editing – saving a file opened from Shared Workspace will automatically upload your file back into Shared Workspace without the need to save the file onto your workstation first.
- Creating files - you can create files, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint within Shared Workspace. Without the plug-in, files have to be created locally and then uploaded into Shared Workspace.
- Drag and drop - you can drag and drop files from your workstation into Rooms. There is however a size limit of 10MB per file. Without the plug-in you have to follow a specific procedure to browse for and select files to add to a Room.
- Rich text editing - you can format text, insert pictures and links and check spelling. Without the plug-in you can use plain text only.
- Calendar synchronisation - calendar entries and tasks created in Shared Workspace can be synchronised with Outlook. Without the plug-in, this synchronisation cannot take place.
