Help and support

There is comprehensive help and support available for Shared Workspace members.

To resolve issues quickly and effectively it is important you choose the most appropriate help. Your choice will depend on the circumstances of each issue and will fall into two broad categories.

  1. accessing the service, availability, registration and enrolment
  2. using the service

Accessing the service, availability, registration and enrolment

If you are experiencing problems gaining access to the service or if the service is not working as expected, these checks should be carried out in the following order.

  1. Shared Workspace internet site
    Check for any news items on the Shared Workspace pages.
  2. Online services internet site
    Check for Service Availability on the HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) internet site's Service Availability list.
  3. Your Customer Nominated Contacts (CNCs)
    Contact one of you organisations CNCs within the room to check if the problem has already been reported.
    If there are no CNCs available then you can contact a Business Authorising Officers (BAO) for the room.
  4. Online Services Helpdesk
    Contact Online Service Helpdesk to report the problem on:

    Note: The Online Services Helpdesk can only help you with service access, availability issues and registration and enrolment queries.

    If you are dissatisfied by the way in which HMRC have handled your Shared Workspace online service affairs you can contact the Online Customer Service complaints team.

    Select the help link at the bottom of the screens.

    Shared Workspace.
  5. CNCs of the room
    Contact your organisation's CNCs within the room.

If there are no CNCs available then you can contact a BAO for the room.
