2008-09 P9 tax codes

2008-09 P9 Coding Notices to employers and agents have started to go out this week. Your tax code notifications will be sent to you online if you have registered for online services. Or we will send your tax codes online to your agent if you gave us authority, either online or on an FBI2. You will not get a P9 for every employee.

To see your online P9s:

  • login to the PAYE Online service
  • select ‘tax codes notices (P6s and P9s)’ from the ‘Notice summary’ section on your PAYE Online service page
  • select the tax year 2008-09
  • use the search criteria to find the notices you wish to view, for example, by employee name or National Insurance Number.

Agents can see tax codes for all their clients for seven days from the time we make them available. To look at a tax code after the seven-day window has elapsed, agents must use the ‘Search client’ facility.

You can find more about 2008-09 tax codes on the 2008-09 P9X in the ‘What’s changed’ section of your Employer CD-ROM, issued during February. The P9X also tells you what to do if you have not received online tax code notifications that you were expecting.

Find our more about viewing tax codes on your PAYE Online page.

P9s sent on paper will be issued between 25 February and 7 March.
