Online Return and Forms –
PAYE service unavailable from 22 October
On 22 October 2008, we will be temporarily withdrawing HM Revenue &
Customs (HMRC) Online Return and Forms – PAYE service so that it
can be upgraded. The service is likely to be unavailable until 27 October
2008 though you will be able to find out the latest from the Service
Availability page.
If you use our Online Return and Forms – PAYE service you will
not be able to submit in-year forms online during this period. You should
store any forms until the service is restored or, if the submission is
very urgent, it should be made on paper.
Also from 22 October to 26 October (inclusive) you will not be able to
use our Domestic scheme or Charities, Assets and Residence (CAR) scheme.
This involves forms P12 and P37 (Domestics) and forms CA3831 and CA3822
for applications of E101 (CAR).
If you or your agent use commercial software, Electronic Data Interchange
or paper you will not be affected by the temporary withdrawal of Online
Return and Forms – PAYE.
During the upgrade, we will be deleting:
- Employer Annual Returns and employee starter and leaver forms for
2004-05 and earlier tax years from your part of the service. There is
no legal obligation for you to keep this information but, if you want
to, you must now save it to your own system or print it off.
- All unsubmitted data, including amendments to forms irrespective
of the date they were created. We strongly recommend that you review
all unsubmitted data and decide whether to send this to us before 21
October.
Once this data has been deleted, neither you nor your agent will be able
to access it.
Also:
- From 22 October 2008, the facility to use Online Return and Forms
– PAYE service to file P9D and P11D Returns online for 2007-08
will be withdrawn. You should have sent these to us by 6 July 2008 but
if you still need to file one you must do it now.
You will be able to resume using the service to file P9D and P11D Returns
for 2008-09 from April 2009.
- Also, you or your agent will not be able to use the service to send
any outstanding 2004-05 Employer Annual Returns (P35 and P14s) after
21 October 2008. If you have not sent us a 2004-05 Employer Annual Return,
you must either file it online now or send it to us on paper.
The facility to file Employer Annual Returns for 2005-06 onwards will
still be available when the service is restored.
