2009-10 tax codes to use from 6 April 2009

From today Monday 16 February 2009, we are issuing P9 notices showing the new tax code you must operate from 6 April for some of your employees. We will be sending online P9s between 16 February 2009 and 23 February 2009 so check regularly to make sure that you have received yours. If you are an agent and use the HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) website to view your P9s, the seven day window to view your most recent tax codes will start from the date that we load the notices into the Data Provisioning Service. So please review your HMRC online page regularly.

You will not receive a code number for every employee. The P9X on the 2009 Employer CD-ROM will tell you how to change the tax code for your other employees in time for the start of the new tax year.
