20.- Short title, commencement and extent.

(1) This Act may be cited as the Tax Credits Act 1999.
(2) This Act, except-

(a) this section;
(b) section 6;
(c) subsections (2) and (4) to (9) of section 14 (and subsection (1) of that section, except so far as relating to subsection (3)); and
(d) subsection (1) of section 19,

shall come into force on 5th October 1999.
(3) This Act extends to Northern Ireland.
