HMRC has published five papers that set out the new relationship that the department aspires to have with small and medium business, and the progress made towards realising that relationship.
Working
towards a new relationship
Published at Budget 2005, sets out some of the steps already being taken
to reduce the administrative burdens of tax on small businesses and to
improve the relationship they have with the tax authorities. The paper
also describes future developments and asks small businesses, their representatives
and advisers for their views on priorities.
Making
the new relationship a reality
Published at 2005 Pre-Budget Report, is HMRC's response to the views expressed
in the Budget 2005 consultation "Working towards a new relationship".

documents, and gives details of future plans.
