September 2007

Letters with the heading ‘Changes from October 2007’ which explain penalties and keeping gross payment status within new CIS are being sent to all registered contractors and agents from 13 and 19 September respectively. Each mailing will be spread over a period of up to five days.

Letter CIS372 (PDF 17K) 'Retaining gross payment status in New CIS' is being issued to all subcontractors currently paid gross on 31 May.

April 2007

Letters with the heading ‘The new Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is now live’ are being sent to registered contractors and agents on 30 April. The letters are:

March 2007

New CIS Update (PDF 1.1MB)
The fourth and final New CIS Update with the title ‘Welcome to the new Construction Industry Scheme’ is being mailed to all registered contractors from 23 March.

Letter to subcontractors holding CIS4(T) cards (PDF 17K)
A letter is being issued to every subcontractor who has a temporary Registration Card CIS4(T) that expires after the new scheme starts.

Letter to CIS Contractors - CIS333C and CIS333D

A letter CIS333C (PDF 48K) and a paper list (125 or fewer subcontractors) or a letter CIS333D (PDF 9K) and a CD-ROM (126 or more subcontractors) are being sent from 12 March to all registered contractors. The lists are of subcontractors paid since 6 April 2005 and therefore not requiring verification under new CIS.

Letter to CIS Contractors – CIS333A and CIS333B

A letter CIS333A (PDF 20K) and a paper list (125 or fewer subcontractors) or a letter CIS333B (PDF 19K) and a CD-ROM (126 or more subcontractors) are being sent in late November to all registered contractors. The lists are of subcontractors paid since 6 April 2005 and therefore not requiring verification under new CIS. Questions and answers are available (PDF 19K)

Letters were issued in early November explaining why we are stopping the issue of CIS certificate renewal forms. There are 4 versions of the letter.

October 2006

Letter to CIS Contractors (PDF 23K)
This letter is being sent in late October to around 30,000 contractors who currently use software to produce CIS vouchers and returns.
