Which browser is supported?

HMRC recommends that you use the following minimum browser specifications:

  • Windows - Internet Explorer 6.0, Mozilla Firefox 3.5, Google Chrome 5.0 and Safari 5.0
  • Mac - Mozilla Firefox 3.5, Google Chrome 5.0 and Safari 5.0
  • Linux - Mozilla Firefox 3.5 and Safari 5.0

You may still be able to use the HMRC website using other browsers and versions, but the pages may not display properly or allow you to use all of the functionality.

Screen settings

The HMRC website has been designed to be viewed at a minimum display resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and 16-bit colour.

Downloading and using PDFs

You must have Adobe Reader installed on your computer before you can use this form. HMRC recommends that you use the latest version of Adobe Reader software that will work with your computer. Downloading Adobe Reader is free and only takes a couple of minutes.

Other PDF viewers may allow you to open the form, but when using interactive forms (ones that you complete on screen) all of the features may not work correctly.

Printing web pages

To print a page you need to select the print option, usually found under the file menu of your browser. The HMRC website automatically displays pages in print friendly formats, for example without the navigation bars.
