TSEM8010 - Trust management expenses: introduction - guidance

There is guidance on trust management expenses (TMEs) in the Trust & Estate return Guide. Help sheet IR392 Trust management expenses (TMEs) is also available from April 2006.

The guidance in TSEM provides further technical detail and background on TMEs. It is based on a paper published in January 2006 that was largely agreed by trust representatives. Some areas of disagreement remain, in particular trustees' fees (TSEM8880-8882).

The guidance is unaffected by the Law Commission paper 175, Capital and income in Trusts: classification and apportionment.
