TSAD03010 - Approval of premises: authority to approve premises
Our authority to approve premises for the temporary storage of goods is contained in Council Regulation (EEC) No 2913/92, Article 51(1). It states:
Article 51(1). Goods in temporary storage shall be stored only in premises approved by the customs authorities under the conditions laid down by those authorities.
All new approvals are to be for an interim period of 12 months.
Each one should then be reviewed locally towards the end of the 12 month period. If a decision is taken by you and your local management to allow it to continue, the approval is to be open-ended from then onwards.
