SW07320 - File Naming Convention: Customer Naming Convention

File Naming Conventions are intended to provide consistency of approach whilst allowing flexibility for business needs and enhanced search functionality.

HMRC Knowledge, Analysis and Intelligence (KAI) have published principles on File Naming Conventions. Customer Organisations can request a copy of this policy from the HMRC Business Unit with whom they are using Shared Workspace.

HMRC cannot insist that Customer Organisations follow HMRC policies but Business Units must advise them about the HMRC File Naming Convention and why it would be advantageous to adopt those principles.
