SW04210 - HMRC Business Authorising Officer: Activity Inbox Introduction

A BAO Activity Inbox is similar to an Outlook Inbox. It receives online requests, can be managed by activity type, date received etc, and can be accessed by other HMRC Business Authorising Officers (BAO) of the same Room.

The purpose of the BAO Activity Inbox is to receive, in one central location, online requests requiring BAO approval before each activity can be completed. This enables the BAOs of a Room to effectively manage all requests generated within their Room.

The following activities require BAO approval and generate an online request

SW04230Add First Two Customer Nominated Contacts to a Room
SW04225Add HMRC Member to a Room
SW04235Add Customer Member to a Room
SW04240Change HMRC Member Role
SW04245Change Customer Member Role
SW04250Delete a Room Item
SW05250Reissue of Known Facts Letters

All BAOs of the Room have access to the outstanding online requests for their Room. How the Inbox is managed is for the BAOs of each room to decide. But BAOs have collective responsibility for their Room and it is essential the Inbox is effectively managed to avoid delays and complaints.
