- Calculating average weekly earnings
Set period not a whole number of calendar months
If an employee is normally paid once each calendar month:
Establish the set period, see
SPM10625.
- To give a whole number of calendar months
in the set period, round as follows:
- any month except February: round 15 days or less
down, 16 days or more round up
- February: round 14 days or less down, 15 days or
more round up
- add together the gross earnings in the set
period.
- Divide the total by the number of calendar
months in the relevant period, (if this is not a whole number of
months, round to the nearest whole number)
- Multiply the result by 12
- Divide the result by 52 to give the
