SE76008 – Social Security benefits: benefit paid on behalf of EEC countries

The DSS and the Department for Education and Employment (DfEE) can pay Social Security benefits on behalf of other EEC countries.

These benefits are not chargeable under Schedule E.

Foreign Social Security payments are chargeable under Case V of Schedule D, subject to Extra-Statutory Concession (ESC) A24 (see IM1590).
