SE42870 - Residence or employment in the United Kingdom: employees arriving and departing

Action to take when an employee comes to, or leaves, the United Kingdom

To decide whether you can deal with the case yourself or if you must submit the case to Centre for Non-Residents (Residence Advice and Liabilities) Bootle:

• for someone coming to the United Kingdom, obtain a completed form P86 in accordance with SE42890 and the Residence Guide (RG2.2) and see RG2.3 onwards
• for someone leaving the United Kingdom, obtain a completed form P85(S) or P85 in accordance with the Residence Guide (RG1.2) and see SE42930 onwards.

Keep the form(s) in a permanent notes sub-file together with any other residence and domicile records and correspondence
