| s165(1) |
It is not permissible for a
registered pension scheme to have a
normal minimum pension age lower than age 50 (or
55 by 6 April 2010).
This applies equally to individuals within certain
occupations who customarily retire before age 50 (for example,
professional sports people or individuals in hazardous
occupations).
Individuals with a low pension age prior to 6 April 2006 may
be able to take their benefits earlier than age 50 or age 55 (after
5 April 2010) subject to certain conditions set out in
RPSM03106010 onwards.
