What is value shifting?

If a registered pension scheme transacts with a connected party such as the member or employer other than at the commercial rate this will result in an unauthorised payment charge being incurred.

It is possible to pass value from a registered pension scheme without actually making any payments as such. There are various ways in which this can happen and these are covered in more detail at RPSM07106010 onwards.
