member requests it, and this is allowed under your
scheme's rules, you may transfer only part of a member's pension
rights from your scheme.
A transfer of part of a member's pension rights in a
registered pension scheme leaving the remaining
rights in the scheme is a recognised transfer providing
If any funds are transferred to any destination that is not a
registered pension scheme or a
qualifying recognised overseas pension scheme,
this may be an unauthorised payment (see
RPSM04104010).
There may be Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
legislation to take into account, if for example contracted-out
benefits are involved.
