Change to practitioner authorisation

Practitioner making the notification

A practitioner may wish to notify HMRC that they are no longer acting on behalf of a scheme administrator of a particular pension scheme.

They can do this by logging in using their user ID and password (see RPSM02306100 and RPSM02306110). Then they would

  • select Pension Schemes Online from their list of services, and
  • select the HMRC free Pensions Product link or the 3rd Party Software link.

If using HMRC's free Pensions Product, the practitioner should select the "Practitioner Management" link under "Scheme Administration", and should then select the "cease" link at the side of their name.

Scheme administrator making the notification

A scheme administrator may wish to give HMRC authority or remove authority from HMRC to deal with a practitioner acting on their behalf.

They can do this by logging in using their user ID and password (see RPSM02306100 and RPSM02306110).

Then they would

  • select Pension Schemes Online from their list of services,
  • select the HMRC free Pensions Product link or the 3rd Party Software link.

If using HMRC's free Pensions Product, the scheme administrator should then select a pension scheme, then select "Practitioner Management" under "Scheme Administration".

To authorise a new practitioner, select the "Authorise New Practitioner" link.

To de-authorise, select the "De-authorise" link to the right of the practitioner's name.
