If no nomination is made for payment of a charity lump sum death benefit or transfer lump sum death benefit

If neither the member nor dependant makes a nomination the scheme administrator may distribute the remaining alternatively secured pension fund or dependants’ alternatively secured pension fund by paying
- where the member or dependant entitled to a dependant’s alternatively secured pension fund died before 6 April 2007 a transfer lump sum death benefit. The scheme administrator may nominate which scheme member (or members) will benefit from the payment, and / or-
- after 6 April 2007, they may pay a charity lump sum death benefit to a charity of their choosing
