RPSM07200170 - Member Pages: Investments: How do I pay any tax due?

How do I pay any tax that is due?

If you receive a Self Assessment tax return each year, then you should declare the unauthorised payment on that return and send it back to your Tax Office as usual.

If you do not normally receive a Self Assessment tax return, then you should tell your local Tax Office by 5 October after the end of the tax year in which you received the unauthorised payment.

If you miss that date, tell us straight away as the amount of tax that has not been paid at the following 31 January will affect any interest and penalties you may have to pay.

For more information on Self Assessment see the HMRC website.
