RPSM03301110 - Scheme Administrator Pages: Protecting pension rights from tax charges: Valuing pension rights: Amending valuations

What should a scheme administrator do if they have given an incorrect valuation?

Individuals are able to amend their primary or enhanced protection after they have made a notification to HMRC if the initial details are found to be incorrect.

If a scheme administrator finds that they have given an incorrect valuation of pension or lump sum rights they should give the individual details of the revised valuation. The individual can then notify HMRC of their amended details and where necessary HMRC will issue a revised certificate.
