Uncrystallised pension rights: what is a relevant pension arrangement?

Relevant pension arrangement has the meaning given in paragraph 1(1) of Schedule 36 Finance Act 2004, but briefly a relevant arrangement is an arrangement under any of the following
- a
retirement benefits scheme approved under Chapter
I Part 14 Income and Corporation Taxes Act (ICTA) 1988
- a scheme formerly approved under section 208 ICTA 1970
- a relevant statutory scheme (as defined in section 611A ICTA
1988) or a scheme treated by HMRC as if it were a relevant
statutory scheme
- an annuity contract not providing current benefits entered into
in relation to (a) to (c) inclusive
- a Parliamentary scheme or fund mentioned in s613(4)(b) to (d)
ICTA 1988
- a
retirement annuity contract or substituted
contract
- a personal pension scheme approved under Chapter 4 Part 14 ICTA 1988
Rights held in FURBSs (funded unapproved retirement benefit schemes) and UURBSs (unfunded unapproved retirement benefit schemes) on 5 April 2006 are not rights in relevant pension arrangements.
