RE1862 - Requests for Post Transaction Valuation Checks (PTVC)

If a donor makes a written request for a PTVC before filing an SA/CTSA return in circumstances where there has been a disposal of a qualifying interest in land and they wish to make a claim under Chapter 3, Part 8 ITA 2007 or Chapter 3, Part 6 CTA 2010, you should send a memo to the District Valuer as required in RE1861.

The request should specify that a PTVC is required and a 'not negotiated' valuation is required.

The Valuation Office will report, on the basis of the evidence provided by the donor, whether the valuation is accepted as returned or is unacceptable.

The donor should be notified of the Valuation Office decision without delay and where the donor requests a negotiated valuation, the matter should be referred back to the Valuation Office
