PSI26.1.14 - Scheme requirements for conversion
– General - Membership of a dual approval scheme
(This archived guidance relates to HMRC discretionary
practice before the 6th April 2006. For current guidance on
Registered Pension Schemes see the Registered Pension Schemes
Manual)
An individual can be a member of both of the separately approved
parts of the scheme.
This may occur, for example, when
- someone has rights as an employee in one
scheme and pension credit rights (from a divorce) in the other,
or
- someone has rights in different parts of
the scheme relating to different parts of their career, or
- a member is entitled to
“concurrent” membership of Chapter I and Chapter IV
schemes.
