[PN19.2]

There are many reasons why we may consider withdrawing approval. The most common ones are:

  1. failure to administer the scheme properly,
  2. serious breaches of the scheme rules resulting in payments of excessive or unauthorised benefits,
  3. persistent failure to furnish information or meet a scheme’s tax liabilities,
  4. over-funding the scheme to an unacceptable extent (see PSI20.8.52), or
  5. use of the scheme for tax avoidance.
