PSI17.1.58 - Tax Treatment of Approved Schemes
and Payments by Approved Schemes: Tax Treatment of Approved Schemes
- Repayment of Tax to Self- Administered Schemes at Interim
Stage
-
(This archived guidance relates to HMRC discretionary
practice before the 6th April 2006. For current guidance on
Registered Pension Schemes see the Registered Pension Schemes
Manual)
A self-administered scheme does not qualify for tax relief
on its investment income until it is formally approved. This period
before a scheme can be approved sometimes causes financial loss
because the scheme has only the net investment income available for
re-investment.
