PSI14.2.37 - Transfer Payments: Benefits from
Transfer Payments - Transferred Benefits on an Added Years
Basis
-
(This archived guidance relates to HMRC discretionary
practice before the 6th April 2006. For current guidance on
Registered Pension Schemes see the Registered Pension Schemes
Manual)
[PN10.27]
Some larger defined benefit schemes give "added years"
instead of benefits on the money purchase basis described in
PSI14.2.8-25. Where added years are
given, the transfer monies should not be segregated from the main
fund since the member will become entitled to benefits based on his
or her final remuneration.
